PTFE Dip Etched Tubing

PTFE Dip Etched

One of the appeals of PTFE is its lubricious nature.  There are use cases that require the PTFE to bond with other materials.  Bonding can be challenging because of PTFE’s lubriciousness and low surface energy.  The process of dip etching alters the surface properties, reducing the PTFE’s lubricity and allowing it to bond with hubs and other components. Some of the characteristics include:

  • Outer Diameters range from as low as 0.010” (0.254mm) up to 0.500” (12.7mm)
  • Dipped etched lengths range from as low as 0.050” (1.27mm) up to 5” (127mm)
  • Able to reliably and consistently hit sub-70° contact angles
  • Tube lengths range from 2” (50.8mm) and as long as 108” (2743.2mm)
  • Able to accommodate beading and wall thicknesses as low as 0.001” (0.0254mm)
