Teleflex Medical OEM’s Latest Innovation: Force Fiber OrthoTape^® Braid

Wayne, PA    Teleflex Medical OEM, a global leader in custom sutures and fibers, has added an ultra-strong, ultra-thin tape to its suture product line. Force Fiber OrthoTape^® Braid is durable, yet gentle and features a low profile and broad footprint. The braid, indicated for orthopedic procedures, is ideal for applications where tissue pull-through may be a concern.

According to tests, OrthoTape Braid is flatter than similar tapes on the market. In fact, its profile is 40% thinner. The braid’s broad footprint gently contours and lays flat against the surface.

OrthoTape Braid is prepared from ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) that is durable and pliable. It has a silk-like feel that is gentle on tissue and gloves. Using UHMWPE fibers in the specialty braid, Teleflex Medical OEM has developed a product that is stronger than round suture of similar size and material.

The braid has a large offering of colors and patterns including criss-cross and tracer strands. A variety of widths is available ranging from 1mm to 5mm. Both sterile and non-sterile product can be custom-configured to meet the requirements of many unique applications.
